I find that the narrator of an audiobook can make or break a good listen for me. The tone or pitch has to sit easy on the ears or I find it hard to swallow and end up wasting money on what might have been a good book.
I have recently come across Emma Spurgeon Hussey reading some of Kerry Fisher’s books such as The Secret Child and I have enjoyed her soft tones which twist and shape deeper/lower/higher to suit the characters.
Is it just me?
